A very intense nose for an italian wine – lime, passionfruit and flowers with flinty aromas of the mineral sparks that recall pouilly fume and new zealand sauvignon blanc.
Velvety, creamy texture and feel, which is unexpected from an usually crisp, fruit forward grape variety. This wine represents a range of secondary aromas – hints of cederwood, hay and green pepper, on the palate it is more fruity – green apples, citrus and just a hint of fresh pineapple.
This wine is wonderful on it’s own but can absolutely hold to lots of different types of food. Try it with chicken breast with grilled tomatoes and leek.
Fermented in stainless steel.
The weger estate was founded in 1820 and six generations later, is still a family business. the estate lies in south tyrol, just below the alpine mountains. the high altitude and cool climate produces wines different from everything else in italy, more reminiscent of austrian wine.
