Introduction to Mother Restaurant

Restaurant Mother is known for its trademark sourdough pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven. The restaurant opened its doors as one of the first restaurants in the Meatpacking District in Copenhagen in 2010. The Restaurant has since grown immensely popular both locally as well as outside of the Danish borders for its approachable, organic quality food imported directly from Italy or made in Copenhagen from organic products. In September 2016 Mother Restaurant took its “good food for the people” and “back to nature” philosophy a step further by introducing a new and even healthier and tastier way of making pizza dough using purified seawater instead of traditional salt and water. Mother Restaurant launched its second restaurant at the iconic “Battersea Power Station” in London, which is re-designed by the legendary architects Frank Gehry & Norman Foster. The venue opened in July 2017.

Introduction to Mother Wine

Mother Wine is all about Italy. Mother Wine is an Italian wine merchant specialized in natural and organic wines with shops on- and offline founded with the aim to offer genuine quality wines at a sensible price by working closely with selected producers using indigenous grape varieties: New grapes, new flavors, new techniques, compared to what is currently being offered in Scandinavia. The founders discovered the lack of affordable, Italian quality wines on the market while importing wines for their restaurant, Mother and thus, the idea of mother wine was born. Mother wine aims at providing consumers, restaurateurs and big distributors with less known labels and interesting grape. We wish to challenge “the usual suspects” and educate people on the rich varieties of grapes and blends produced in Italy.

Introduction to Mother Wine e-commerce

After three years as conventional wine retailers, we decide to take the step into the “new” age and go official with our e-commerce. In this day and age it is essential, for any retail, to have an online presents. Not just to let your potential customers know about, but to have the vital reach into your national market, or even international.
We wanted to find the right team, the right structure and the right time, before indulging into this. This we believe we have found.

First we offered our new Italian wines in our restaurant, then to locals and visitors of Copenhagen. Now everyone in Denmark, will be able see what we believe to be some of the best wine, coming out of Italy.
